Ready, Set, P90X!!!

So I've been a quiet contributer for long enough! I've enjoyed the posts and keep up to date on this blog, but now the time to be silent has come to an end. I need encouragement and I knew just where to come! I trust you all. :D

I'm starting P90X tomorrow, August 9th and I'll finish November 6th. I weighed myself, took my measurements, and my scale has a body fat percentage calculator, I've noted my BMI and my husband and I will take "Before" pictures when the kiddos are in bed tonight. Can you think of anything else?

I want to hold myself accountable to someone so this is where I'll do it. Every week I'll update you all on my progress. I think the only number I'm willing to broadcast is my BMI. It's 27.9 so yes, I'm overweight. Ideally I'd like to get it down to 22.8. So I've got a bit to go!

For the first 2 weeks, I'll eat well, cutting out all white flour, sugar, dairy products, juice, bread, salad dressings-except lemon juice and vinegar, spreads, and high-sodium foods. I'll eat 5 meals a day, each being a lean protein with a complex carb. I'll need a lot of will power and determination to not "cave" and snack on my kids treats for their school lunches (which are healthy...but still...) I'll also try to not eat within 4 hours of bedtime. And drink a gallon of water a day.

Ambitious, I know...but I'm sick of being fat! ;o)

So, we'll see how it goes...wish me luck and motivation!

Girl, you are NOT fat! Good for you for starting P90X! While I was away in Utah for the last two weeks I actually decided to commit to do the same thing! We have to do it together! Take me with you! :) I'll be stealing Jon's DVDs and nutrition manual, and I got some stretchy weight band thingies. I'll do all the measurements tomorrow... but do I really have to take a before picture???

Thanks for the motivation girls!!! I need it today! Monday went awesome, yesterday was great but I got a major headache in the afternoon and I still have it today. I've been taking ibuprofen and tylenol and it won't go away... I still got up at 5 and did the Shoulders and Arms dvd and I'll do the Ab Ripper X when Dirk gets home from work. I don't mind the sore muscles...kinda like it, just need the headache to go away! ;o)

DRINK *LOTS* OF WATER! And make sure you're getting protein with each meal and snack. And sometimes caffeine can kill a headache, try Excedrin or a Coke. I hope it goes away soon!

Yea, drinking lots of water might help your headaches. I'm on week 2 of P90X right now and I can't even tell you what a difference I feel. Working night shift, I'm usually tired ALL the time and I usually get a splitting headache my 2nd night in a row. However, since starting this, my headaches have gone away and I have much more energy. The increased energy probably comes from eating a lot healthier too!! I'll admit that I sneak a few m&m's at my grandmas, but I didn't realize how much crap I was eating until I made a conscious effort to NOT eat the junk. If nothing else...the increased energy is worth it!! Keep it up girls!!! --cheryl

Yea, I've been drinking a little over a gallon of water a day, eating a lean protein with a complex carb for all 5 meals, and it's almost gone today. Barely there! I just ned to get more sleep. My stupid neighbors kept me up two nights in a row...they were partying all night long, yet they were still up at 7...I don't get that!

I've been eating pretty well except yesterday I ate 8 little brownie bites that were heavenly. I told myself I would only have one but that didn't go so well! ;o) Last night I started my period so now I know where the almost uncontrollable chocolate craving came from. I am proud that I shared one and left 3 in the package! Last week I would have eaten them all! ;o)

And I could have done better on water.

Today's a new day, another chance to do better!
